Platanos (Greek: Πλάτανος meaning maple) is a village and a former municipality in Aetolia-Acarnania, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Nafpaktia, of which it is a municipal unit.〔(Kallikratis law ) Greece Ministry of Interior 〕 Population 1,611 (2011). The population of the village was 207 in 2011 and the population of the municipal district, which includes the village Kato Platanos, was 253.
